It's a straight piece of pvc entering sump with a '90deg. elbow at the bottom. It's about 1.5" above bottom of sump, but there's a lot of bubbles. Everything's pretty quiet except for the gurgling of large air bubbles once they enter the sump. I cut about a 6" piece of pvc and drilled holes on the 3 sides of it to help the larger bubbles
